Wind Energy Resource Control

About This Project

This was one of our favorite projects for teaming and technology reasons. We led the the design and development of Wind Generation Resource Control (WGRC) algorithms. Typical wind turbine control takes place at the individual turbine level without consideration to the performance and grid contributions from other turbines within the Wind Generation Resource (WGR). The results of our work and our partner’s, SC Solutions , work contributed to the delivery of a Group Control System that orchestrated all the wind turbines to work in unison in effort to balance grid demands with operational, economic, and maintenance requirements.
